Loads of Newcastle fans have been reacting to a very worrying update, as Yoshinori Muto will miss the entire month of January to take part in the Asian Cup.
Newcastle were once again very slow in the transfer market this summer, but Rafael Benitez’s desperation for a new centre forward did eventually see two new strikers join the club.
Salomon Rondon has been red-hot since he returned to full fitness, and while Muto hasn’t quite hit the ground running, the Japanese international is definitely going to be a huge player for the Magpies.
Former Wigan & Fulham man, Jimmy Bullard recently showed that he’s still got it! Check out the video below...
However, the 26 year-old, who has 25 Japan caps, has been called up to the Japan squad that will take part in the 2019 Asian Cup in UAE.
The tournament lasts from 5 January to 1 February, meaning Muto will likely miss four Premier League fixtures and the third round of the FA Cup.
Fans are cursing the lack of signings to provide cover for Muto’s departure, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
