Everton won the race to sign Bernard on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk in the latter stages of the summer window.
A number of clubs were linked with a move for the 14-time Brazil international, but Marco Silva convinced the attacker to make the move to Goodison Park.
The 25-year-old made his Everton debut as a late substitute in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth, and will now be looking for his first start against Rotherham United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.

The Toffees have made a positive start to their 2018-19 Premier League campaign, especially when considering that they have had two players sent off in their three matches.
The EFL Cup is a competition that Everton should prioritise this season, and Bernard is expected to be handed a starting role against Rotherham.
Bernard posted a message on social media after making his bow for the Merseyside outfit at the weekend, and the Everton fans have been reacting on social media.
