Milan’s season has been a true rollercoaster ride but unfortunately for them, they are still struggling for continuity of any kind.
As a direct result of that, the Rossoneri are currently sitting in tenth place in the table and are not really showing any clear signs of immediate improvement.
One big part of the problem is in their defensive line as the Italians have already conceded 19 goals in Serie A.
Of course, with only Alessio Romagnoli and Mateo Mussachio as reliable pieces in their defence, it very much feels like a third option should be added, especially considering the serious injury Leo Duarte has suffered which depleted their lines heavily.
Calciomercato reported that the Rossoneri could also try to snatch Tottenham Hotspur’s Juan Foyth as a possible reinforcement in the near future.
But is a 21-year-old defender, who is also largely an unfinished product, really a good solution for their glaring problem?
Foyth is struggling for any significant game time himself with just 217 minutes under his belt in the ongoing 2019/20 campaign and just 31 appearances overall while donning the Spurs shirt.
Of course, having such a high-potential kid in your ranks is always a positive thing but Milan should think twice before actually entering the race for his signature.
Yes, he is talented and he could go on to become a big star in the future but at the moment, he just seems like a fairly risky move for a team that needs stability and reliable cover right here and right now.

Not to mention that Jose Mourinho himself has stated the young talisman is going nowhere in January and was pretty certain of that verdict.
Speaking after the mid-week clash against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, the Special One remarked, as quoted by Sky Sports:
“At the moment, the players that went to Munich with us are part of our squad, so I don’t think there will be many doors open for players to get out on loan.
“If you want to be more direct like some media that was saying Foyth was one of them – I can kill it now. No chance.”
Foyth still has a long way to go and is sometimes rash and uncalculated in his approach.
We can see as much from his three yellow cards and one direct red card in just 888 minutes in the 2018/19 Premier League season – not to mention him giving away two penalties in one game against Wolves – and while that can be justified with his youth and inexperience, it also means that he’s unlikely to give Milan what they seek.
And besides, can they really hope to snatch away someone Mourinho seemingly has no intention of letting go? While Mourinho has ruled out a loan move, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld’s contract situations (both due to expire this summer) suggest a permanent deal is equally unlikely without paying over the odds.
Maybe it would be for the best if the Rossoneri tried with someone else other than Foyth.
