Wrexham have taken to making new signing announcements on social media with the help of commercial partners HP. As deals are completed, news filters through a printer as the relevant documentation is released for the world to see.
DID YOU KNOW?
The paperwork on show is not official, which means that Reynolds and McElhenney can work the odd joke in for eagle-eagled supporters to spot. The contract supposedly drawn up for new goalkeeper Burton includes three special “duties”. The first of those states that “the player must agree that Deadpool would beat Wolverine in a fight”.
WHAT NEXT?
With Reynolds currently promoting his new Deadpool & Wolverine film alongside Hugh Jackman, the comical Wrexham contract also dictates that players “will accept payment via Mouse Pay” and “must, every now and then, be a backup dancer for The Declan Swans” – the band that pieced together the now famous ‘It’s Always Sunny in Wrexham’ song that includes the lyrics: “Less than a mile from the centre of Town, A famous Old stadium crumbling down, No-one's invested so much as a penny, Bring on the Deadpool and Rob McElhеnney.”
