Everton boss David Moyes was pleased to come away from Monday evening's tough trip to Sunderland with a point after a hard-fought 2-2 draw.
The Black Cats led until Mikel Arteta's late strike but there was still time for substitute Jermaine Beckford to miss a stoppage-time chance to secure all three points for the visitors.
Moyes said:"It was a great chance in the last seconds, when Jermaine was through on goal, and he normally finishes them. It could have been three points.
"We had the ball a lot in and around the edge of the box, we got into good positions, but didn't make them pay.
"It was disappointing we couldn't finish off our good play. (But) we are pleased. It's a hard place to come, especially after the result last week for Sunderland.
"I think we've got a really good team, we're a good footballing team (although) we're certainly lacking at the top end and not (getting) enough goals at this moment in time.
"I know Sunderland had one or two chances as well, you would expect that, but overall I'm just disappointed we couldn't finish off some of our good play at times.
"At the start of the season I thought we were capable of achieving big things and I still do. I still think we're in a position to challenge at the top end and hopefully we can try and do that."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
