Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is a regular participant when it comes to playing mind games.During the summer transfer window, there were rumours that the Portuguese coach was interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier. The Red Devils were keen to bring in a defensive presence in the middle of the park, but in the end they brought in Nemanja Matic from Chelsea.During Mourinho’s press conference ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Tottenham at Old Trafford, the manager was asked about his interest in Dier.According toÂThe Guardian, the ex-Chelsea boss said:
“I have the player that I want to have, probably I have the player I didn’t think it was possible to have but we got the player I really wanted.â€
His comments were not taken too kindly by former Spurs defender Graham Roberts, who took to Twitter to vent his fury at the successful coach.
The North London club, who have finished third and second respectively in the past two seasons, head into the match with a disadvantage given that Harry Kane has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
The striker has scored 13 goals in all competitions so far this season.
