Wrexham's stupendous comeback saw them kickoff the new year with a bang, thumping promotion rivals Barrow 4-1 in League Two action.

The Red Dragons fell behind in the first minute thanks to a goal from Barrow's Kian Spence, but the dynamic duo of Steven Fletcher and Paul Mullin combined to score three times in six-minutes just before halftime, on their way to a 4-1 victory.
It's a comeback which will see Wrexham remain above Barrow in the table in the race for promotion to League One, as they open up a four point gap on The Bluebirds in fourth place.

According to Opta, in his 400th English league football game, Fletcher netted his first hat-trick. He is also the first Scottish player above the age of 36 to score an English league hat-trick since Gordon Strachan for Leeds United in 1983.

Wrexham looked frustrated in the first-half, until the game ticked over into the eighth minute of injury time. Fletcher was teed up for a tidy finish by Mullin, before Wrexham's talisman rounded off an impressive comeback with a stunning free-kick to give his side the lead.
Shortly after, the Red Dragons would go on to add a third goal before the break, as Fletcher nodded home his second of the afternoon. A comeback which was fueled by the brilliance of Mullin, but ultimately Fletcher stole the show, as he completed his hat-trick in the 67th minute with another header.
THE BIG LOSER: BARROW
On top of throwing away their first half lead, Barrow also lost both David Worrall and Luca Stephenson to injury, with the latter being the initial replacement for Worrall in the first-half. Both players were stretchered off after going down with respective knocks.
