English football is becoming increasingly popular in the United States thanks to comprehensive broadcast packages making a wider range of live matches more easily accessible on TV than in the UK. Although now back in the EFL Championship, Leeds' three seasons back in the top flight until 2023 will have benefitted them by massively exposing the club to an American audience. But there are other reason for Leeds to have become known stateside, with Weston McKennie, Tyler Adams and Brendan Aaronsen all playing for the club in the Premier League, as well as Jesse Marsch having a spell as manager.

Leeds are among the growing number of UK football clubs with American ownership or investment. The firm that operates the NFL's San Francisco 49ers became a minority investor in 2018, before completing a buyout of owner Andrea Radrizzani last year.
GOAL/GettyWHAT NEXT FOR ADEBAYO & LEEDS?
Adebayo will be at the NBA All-Star Weekend, held this year in Indianapolis, from February 16-18. His Miami Heat lead their division over halfway through the regular season and are on course for the NBA Playoffs.
Ironically, Leeds are hoping to avoid the playoffs as they target automatic promotion back to the Premier League from the Championship. To do so they must finish in the top two and currently are placed second after 30 matches.
